The nearest countryside is marked with the places which are worth visiting. There are numerous monuments of beautiful architecture and unique cultural landscapes. From the hills behind the guesthouse, you can see three ranges: the Giant Mountains, the Jizera Mountains and the Kaczawa Mountains and the Land of Extinct Volcanoes with Queen Ostrzyca. Walking tours, cycling and skiing are within reach. One-day trips to Prague, Dresden, and Görlitz are also worth making. Close to nature, far away from commerce and from daily hustle and bustle. It is ideal!
Lubomierz – a five-minute walk
The gem of architecture close to your place! What are you going to see there? The town’s marketplace with arcades, the Town Hall, a historic bridge, baroque sculptures, and above all - a dominating, most beautiful church. There, you will also find the Kargul and Pawlak Museum – dedicated to the two characters from the Polish film comedy directed by Sylwester Chęciński. At Lubomierz, you can do your shopping and have a pizza.
The Lubomierz Cloister of the Benedictine Nuns – XIIIth Century
Although you can see it from our guesthouse, that incredible monument is really worth visiting. It is situated in the heart of Lubomierz – as it was in the Middle Ages and it is today. The baroque church is not only a real treat for architecture and arts lovers but it will fascinate everybody. Besides, there is a park which can be ideal for a family picnic.
Siedlęcin - 30 minutes by car
Travelling through the River Bóbr Valley Landscaped Park to the mediaeval settlement is a great attraction by itself. And a real rarity is the Prince’s Tower with a painting presenting the story of Sir Lancelot – one of the knights of King Arthur. That is a real treasure! On Saturdays, an artistic-agricultural fair takes place – right under the Tower.
Wleń - 20 minutes by car
Among the wild and mysterious elevations within the meanders of the River Bóbr, there is a small town with a very long and interesting history. It is dominated by one of the oldest castles in Poland i. e. the Wleń Gródek. There, you will see a beautiful marketplace, a historic church, Princes Palace, penitential crosses, and Feud Palace (with coffee and delicious pastry!).
Świeradów-Zdrój - 20 minutes by car
This is a famous health resort which has attracted bathers since the XVIIth century. No wonder – the local medicinal waters have been well known all over the world due to their beneficial health influence. The town is also famous for its gondola lift which is open all year long. In winter, it provides its services to the skiers; in summer, it transports walking tour parties and cyclists.
Jakuszyce - 50 minutes by car
Jakuszyce is the place of convergence of numerous cross-country trails for skiers, walkers, cyclists and those who wish to revel in a rugged terrain. From there, you can reach the most beautiful places in the Jizera Mountains. Has anyone ever heard of the Mountaineer’s Cabin? We do recommend it! You should go there and try the legendary pancakes!
Prague – slightly over two hours
One of the most beautiful cities in the world. Full of priceless monuments, museums, bridges, delicious food and excellent beer! The historic centre is on the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage. Having such a magnificent city - bustling with life - so close to you, you should take an opportunity to visit it - even in one day.
Dresden – about two hours
The city of baroque, the Florence of the North – numerous tourists call it that way!!! The Capital of Saxony, beside Warsaw, it was the residential city of the Polish kings from the Wettin Haus. Full of magnificent monuments with the famous Zwinger – recognized as one of the most significant constructions of the late baroque in Europe.
Görlitz – about 50 minutes
Beautifully situated on the banks of the Lusatian Neisse is one of the few towns in Germany which was not destroyed during the Second World War. Thanks to that, one can see the monuments from various historical periods. On the right bank is Zgorzelec which was formerly part of Görlitz.
